Herbs in our Strauss formulas are chosen for three main reasons: complimentary, additive or as a catalyst, which is synergy. Detoxification
Many herbs have a detoxifying or cleansing action. Although cleansing occasionally has some undesirable effects, such as joint or muscle pain, diarrhea, rashes, or flu like symptoms, it is a normal part of the herb’s action. Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last longer. If uncomfortable, reduce dosage by 1/2 or 2/3 or stop until detox symptoms disappear and then restart with 1/2 dosage and increase to recommended dose over a few weeks.
